Review of Only You: A Soul-Stirring Tale of Love & Healing

Samar and Neera’s story is the perfect example of a love that feels real, raw, and everlasting. Their very first meeting, just a fleeting moment between two strangers, leaves an impression so deep that it stays etched forever. From there begins a journey filled with swoon-worthy moments that make you smile, sigh, and sometimes ache for them.

Characters:

Samar: This character has different colours. He’s a man who instantly captures your heart. From the beginning, he’s been a leader, flirtatious, the best, and a trustworthy friend. The second half of the book, you can see the broken, alpha side of him and then a complete transformation happens when he woos back the love of his life.

Neera: Strong but sensitive character. One moment she has everything: family, love, and friends; the next, it’s all gone, poof! Yet she stands strong, gathers the pieces and rebuilds her life from scratch. That is Neranjana Bajaj for you. She’s the rising Tide, no hurdles can ever stop her.

The Plot

Love isn’t always beautiful; there are thorns too. Circumstances, fate, and actions all come together to make the beautiful journey of lovers painfully difficult. This is one such story, unfolding across the past and present with seamless transitions that keep you hooked throughout.

The story begins with a chance meeting between Samar and Neera that has a lasting impression. Their paths cross again in college, where their relationship slowly blossoms amid fun, friendships, and youthful chaos.

Their college life is vibrant and nostalgic—filled with hostel moments, group friendships, banter, and small romantic gestures that make you relive your own memories.

But as their love deepens, life takes an unexpected turn. A painful incident separates them, leading to heartbreak and emotional struggles—especially for Neera. What follows is a journey of distance, healing, and rediscovery.

The story then focuses on whether love can truly survive pain, ego, and time. Will the broken hearts ever reunite?

The college life portions of the book are crafted so vividly that you feel transported back to those days — management college, hostel nights, seniors vs juniors, campus clashes, blossoming friendships, secret meetings at lovers’ points, and those little moments of young love. The characters feel so real and relatable that you can’t help but recall your college memories while reading.

Neera faces a heartbreak so brutal that it makes you pause and feel her pain. The way Neha balances romance, tragedy, and drama is simply brilliant — never rushed.

The author gives as much attention to crafting a heartbreak as she does to the healing process and the final wooing part. It makes the story well balanced.

I usually run away from lengthy books, but this one kept me hooked until the very last page. Every character leaves a mark, beautifully weaving friendships and sibling bonds. The book is written with such passion and involvement, capturing even the smallest details and never rushing.

What I liked about this book.

  • Highly Emotional and Dramatic
  • Relatable moments, long-lasting friendships, and nostalgia.
  • Beautiful Romance, Strong Characters.
  • Healing and love.

About the Author

  • The college sneakouts, the hostel nightouts, lovers point, sharing personal secrets with forever friendships, groupings. These are all so much more relatable.
  • The author vividly portrays the pain of heartbreak, allowing you to truly empathise with the ache that Samar and Neera experience.
  • The author shows that love is hard; one must work and leave their comfort zone to fight for their partner.
  • And then my most favourite part, The Romance that happens only in books. The larger-than-life gestures, the friends’ outdoor meetups, brother-sister bondings… one has to read to know them.
  • So beautifully written… character development, plot twists, every detail taken care of… just fabulous…
  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A heartfelt, emotional rollercoaster that will leave your heart full and your expectations from love just a little higher.
